I have been working on this post since the dawn of time. Or rather, since 9 to 5 closing was announced a month ago. Which, clearly, saddest moment of my whole summer.
Closing is of course this Sunday. Haynes and I are getting ready to leave for Philadelphia; we're staying the night with
kelbelle and then the three of us are driving into the city to see both of tomorrow's shows with
ciachick711 and Kel's friend Eris, then meeting up with
soaked_in_stars at post-show stagedoor (!!! *clap clap, covers face*).
girlie_girl_23 gets in Sunday morning and then it'll be final showtime. I'm predicting just a humongous hot mess of mixed emotions and laughing and sobbing and people, who aren't me, being drunk.
The greatest thing about this weekend is that all of my kids will be there with me for hand-holding, etc. Clr and I have been talking about being there for ~Janney's last show~ essentially since 9 to 5 first existed, and now that's actually happening. It's because of this show that I've met (and am going to be meeting) so many of my favorite people. Clr and I met irl because of this show. Kel and I met because of it. Tiff and Lauren and Carina (and Alex, even if she has to be stick!Alex on closing night ♥) and I are all friends because of this show. Not to mention the fact that I met my favorite person in the world because of it. Huge. And not only did I meet Allison, but she was perfect to us, both in LA and then again when I stagedoored in New York.
I know that I'm so lucky. The closing performance will be my seventh time seeing the show, and since I saw it during previews in LA I've been able to watch it evolve over the course of both runs. I know there are people, both on and off my flist, who haven't seen it, who would kill to see it even once. I know how lucky I am. It doesn't make me any less sad about it, though. To be honest, I easily could have gone to see 9 to 5 a hundred times.
So I picspam'd. It's my show. Janney, YessJayBee, Megan, Marc, the handsome Andy Karl, Kathy Fitzgerald HBIC, Tory effing Ross, etc. - those are my kids, and I love them. I've never had an OBC before. For as many shows as I've seen, I've never been this invested in a cast before. Not even [title of show] comes close to this, okay.
Eesh, talk talk talk, tl;dr I love them all so much; picspamming essential. And I'm so grateful that I get to be there for closing. (Also btw, I'm not so secretly fantasizing that Ann Harada will come back for Sunday, surprise!, and they'll put "Tattletales" in just for fun. Woo.)

( but the music was in ya, janney. )
